Dear Friends,

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your support of hope and for supporting our mission of Rekindling Hope in Today’s Youth. We are filled with gratitude for all of you who support our organization and the kids who need a fresh start in a supportive environment. You have helped us to provide that environment and your contributions, prayers and support have helped the kids of today and the kids of tomorrow. While the kids may never have the opportunity to meet and thank you for all that you have done for them, I would like to personally thank you on behalf of the kids and on behalf of their future children. Your support tends to pay generational and eternal dividends.

I am living proof. As many of you know, my father grew up at a place like The Ranches and was supported by people like you during his younger years. Those contributions helped me as my life would have been very different – possibly nonexistent – had generous people not chosen to support kids in need back in the 50s and 60s. I wish that I could map out the effect of your support on the children of the kids who have spent time at The Ranches. I am truly grateful for those that support organizations that help kids as that support is manifested in my blessed life and the blessed lives of my children. Thanks to people like you, my children will never know the pain, fear and isolation of being labeled “at risk.” While we all have our struggles, those struggles are much easier to navigate with support from a generous and dedicated community who recognizes those needs and the struggles the accompany the needs of the kids at The Ranches.

So, it is my sincere hope that you and those closest to you have a beautiful and blessed Thanksgiving. For me, this is a time to express gratitude for all of the blessings that God has bestowed upon me. While we’ve always known gratitude is important, we are now learning that gratitude is not only good for the soul, but gratitude is also shown to rewire our minds.

In just 21 days, gratitude can rewire our minds as expressing gratitude opens us up to focusing on the positives in our lives instead of our natural tendency towards focusing on the problems and negativity that are so persistent and prevalent today.

21 days is all that it takes to reformat our brains to see more of what we can and should be grateful for and focus less on problems and negativity.

We work on this with the kids at The Ranches and we are able to do this because of you. This Thanksgiving, it is our sincere hope that you and those closest to you can focus on gratitude as we focus on our gratitude for you.

“What am I grateful for today?”
“Who am I grateful for today?”
“Who or what inspires me today?”
“How can I express my gratitude today?”

From all of us at The Ranches, “Thank you” for all that you do for us. We are so blessed because of your support. With Christmas just around the corner, Thanksgiving allows us the opportunity to slow down for a day to focus on what we are most grateful for. The Ranches is sincerely grateful for you.

Sincerely,

Heath Kull
