Summer Appeal 2019
It’s sure beginning to feel a lot like summer at The Ranches. Temperatures have reached the 80s and the first cut of hay is safely stowed in the barn. The horses have lost their winter coat and the kids are getting restless at school because they’re itching to be outside.
While the scene is serene, it wasn’t that long ago that we were struggling to figure out how to keep everything going. The economy has made a significant positive turn and you have generously supported our resurgence and our quest to again be the benchmark for faith-based child care in New Mexico and beyond. If you haven’t checked out our podcast, I recommend it. It is titled “Raise Them Up,” available wherever you get your podcasts and her on our website. Listen to The Ranches Podcast Here.
As with any turnaround, there are things that need to be addressed, renewed, renovated and refreshed. This summer, we are hoping, through your generous support, to replace one of our vans. Since we’re out in the country, everywhere we go is a bit of a drive. Doctor’s appointments, outings and church all require a drive. Two of our vans are approaching 10 years old and are showing their age. As you can imagine, safe and reliable transportation is an important part of our program. While being stranded on the side of the road is challenging at best, being stranded with 10 kids who’ve struggled to feel safe and secure is a position we’d rather not be in if we can avoid it.
This is where you can help. We are hoping to raise $25,000 – $30,000 to purchase a new van…one that is a little safer and a little more reliable. With your help, we can make sure that kids never have to feel the insecurity that comes with a vehicle that breaks down on the side of the road.
